Politics

This email my dad forwarded me is a pretty great analogy that shows just one reason why I will not be voting for Obama in the 2012 election.  I thought it was worth sharing.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan"..

All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A....

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!
 No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because

when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on)

Remember, there is a test coming up.The 2012 elections.

Music that I want the world to know about

Sorry it's been awhile, everything just seems really lame compared to the last post, so I'm not even going to try to post something funny right after that.

Warning: If you're following this blog, prepare for a lot of great music to be thrown your way.

Some of my favorite songs right now, that I think everyone should know about:
Karma by j.wride

"I have been taught that you love but may not be loved back"
If you want to hear more of him, evergreenunder your spell, and I knew that we would crash  are some of my favorite, but really all of their stuff is great :)  I went to a concert that the lead singer/piano player did last weekend... holy snot, it was amazing.  Thanks Chelsea for introducing me to their music.

A Drop in the Ocean by Ron Pope

Beautiful.  His song fireflies is beautiful too.  I love dancing to these two songs.

I love The Stars, and I'm choreographing a dance to this song that's going to be in student dance concert soon - which you should all come to. :)

I know you all know about Carrie Underwood, but for some reason not many people know about this one... it's good stuff, though.

also... Colbie Caillat is the best music to listen to when you would like to be transported to your happy place via headphones - just throwin that out there.

More to come, but if you want more good music right now just shoot me a text and I'll tell you some more of my favorites.

ultra awk

Warning:  If you're a guy and shy about female situations you might want to skip this post.  If you choose to continue reading this post.. scroll slowly, otherwise it'll give away the ending.

My life pretty much revolves around awkward moments.  Think I'm lying?  clearly you've never met me.

Example of the day

I'm walking out of class today when my backpack snags on something, so I yank hard and keep walking...
next thing I know, I hear a guy behind me yelling out "your backpack's open.  Miss, you're backpack is open!" I turn back to see a short bearded fellow chasing me down,  and what does he have in his hands?  a little notebook, a pen, and...

wait for it....

a tampon.

At that point I started laughing so hard I could barely walk, so I took 15 minutes to stumble across campus holding my stomach, trying to take in enough oxygen to stay alive between my hardy laughs.

Yes.  A man chased me down to return my fallen tampon.  What a gent. Thank you, kind Sir, thank you.

Piece Selection results

The dance I choreographed for the student dance concert was one of the 12 that the faculty selected to be in the show!  5 of the dances I'm dancing in made it too! :)  I'm sthuper duper exthited! (she's the man, if you haven't seen it...go now.)   So you all should definitely come to this concert because it's going to be like a can full of awesome sauce was opened up right on the stage.  You don't want to miss this - so text me or something so I can tell you when and where this is going down. :)
